Applications are now available for institutions interested in being considered as a host for the 2013-2014 Crimea Undergraduate Exchange Program (Crimea-UGRAD [7]). The university host application and instructions can be downloaded below. Completed applications must be received by 5pm EST on Friday, March 29, 2013, and may be submitted by email (ugrad@irex.org [8]), fax (202-628-8189), or by mail to the IREX address at the bottom of this page. Note: The Crimea-UGRAD application includes options to apply to host other undergraduate program students. Visit the Global UGRAD in Eurasia and Central Asia [11], Global UGRAD-Pakistan [12], and Kosovo-UGRAD [13] websites for more information about those programs.
Crimea-UGRAD is a program through the Department of State Public Affairs Section in Kyiv, Ukraine which provides opportunities for students from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and it is implemented by IREX.
The Crimea-UGRAD Program provides the following:
• J-1 visa support
• Round-trip travel from student’s home city to host institution in the United States
• Tuition and mandatory university fees
• Room and board (housing and meals)
• A small incidentals allowance for students
• A limited allowance for books
• A limited allowance for cultural enrichment activities
• Alumni networking opportunities
Eligibility
Host institutions will be selected based on the following:
• Demonstrated ability to provide a well-rounded program experience (with strong Crimea-UGRAD academic and cultural components)
• Qualifications of the proposed campus coordinator and their ability to provide personalized care
• Institution’s experience and ability to work with students from the targeted regions
• Institution’s ability to engage students in the local community
• Proposed cost-share and per student cost.
Host institutions will be responsible for providing each student with: academic support, cultural and community support, and logistical support. Responsibilities are explained in more detail in the complete Host Application Instructions [9].
