As the Assistant Chief in the Bangladesh Ministry of Planning, Taibur Rahman works on a government-sponsored program to prepare communities for natural disasters, providing them with the resources and practices that will help build community resiliency.
While in the U.S., Taibur worked for the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium where he supported the Coastal Storms Outreach and Education Program that introduces people to storm tools, information and partnerships.
Having returned to Bangladesh, Taibur's follow-on project aims to develop and implement a Community Resilience Index (CRI) tool to enhance climate resiliency and livelihood security in selected coastal communities. With diverse support, the pilot CRI for Bangladesh is nearing completion.
