Stefan Voinea
CSP Leader - Romania
As President of the Gazeta de Sud Foundation, the philanthropic wing of one of Romania’s largest regional news outlets, Stefan Voinea works extensively on programs that seek to facilitate greater dialogue between community members and local government officials.
During his CSP fellowship, Stefan worked for AmericaSpeaks in Washington, D.C., supporting the organization in its efforts to coordinate public forums and conduct public outreach.
Upon returning to Romania, Stefan implemented his follow-on project whereby he created a website where citizens have access to all of the past government corruption acts reported by the media within the last ten years. The portal also allows citizens to report acts of corruption themselves. As of June 2012, the portal has been accessed by 3,000 unique visitors.
