Siatta Scott-Johnson
CSP Leader - Liberia

Siatta Scott-Johnson is a journalist working with the Female Journalist Association of Liberia where she leads trainings and workshops on how to address gender issues using media platforms. She has created radio programming that educates women on topics such as women’s property rights and incidents of sexual and gender-based violence. She also was a director of the documentary The Iron Women of Liberia, which chronicles Liberian President Sirleaf’s first year in government.

While in the U.S., Siatta worked with Beyondmedia Education in Chicago assisting the organization in its efforts to provide media arts education to demographics traditionally underrepresented in the mass media.

Upon returning to Liberia, Siatta implemented her follow-on project whereby she provided training to 40 high school students in media literacy. The project received funding from Smart Media Liberia, which helped Siatta compliment the media trainings with a series of radio and television programs for the youth to put their newfound media skills into practice.
