Robin Lathrop

Program Officer, Education Programs Division

Robin provides oversight to US Government and foundation funded university administration programs and research support programs, including the University Administration Support Program for Eurasia and Africa, the Yegor Gaidar Fellowship Program in Economics & Public Policy and research support programs for US scholars and professionals.

Robin has worked with over 250 visiting professionals, policymakers and university managers from Eurasia and Central Asia, connecting them with universities and research institutes in the United States. She is active as a lead trainer for IREX program workshops and has previously provided support for US based training programs for citizens of Eurasia.

She received an MA in Russian Studies and Certificate in Russian Translation from American University, and a BA in English Literature from Wesleyan University. Her knowledge of Eurasian affairs and culture began with undergraduate study in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Robin is a passionate fan of Vietnamese food and is always on the lookout for opportunities to sample new dishes. She is also a certified instructor for NIA, a movement practice that combines dance, the martial arts, and yoga.
