Radu Oprea

As Founder of SMART Methods for Public Policy in Romania, Radu Adrian Oprea engages citizens in providing valuable, sustainable, and feasible solutions to public problems. Radu founded an online forum that promotes local government accountability and citizen participation in the formulation of public policy through dialogue.

While in the U.S., Radu worked with Common Cause Georgia in Atlanta helping the organization spearhead the state’s first ethics board.

Upon returning to Romania, Radu began implementing his follow-on project which consists of the design and dissemination of “tipspapers” focusing on issues related to small business development, entrepreneurship, and professional and academic development. In addition, Radu founded a business center/cafe that – in addition to hosting the tipspapers – provides young entrepreneurial-minded Romanians a space to network and access relevant business information and resources.
