These programs develop civil society through engaging youth, NGOs, and government bodies to work in partnership to improve their communities, foster good governance, and bridge divides among youth. Under Peter’s management, two national networks were established: the Lebanese Youth Coalition Against Corruption (LYCAC) and the Youth Community Action Network (Youth CAN).
Peter has 18 years of international development managerial and technical experience in the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining IREX, he implemented a series of public governance programs funded by USAID for over 13 years and provided a broad range of technical and administrative assistance to parliaments in the Middle East, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, executive oversight agencies, governorates, and many local governments.
He received a BS in Physics for Engineers and an MS in Automation from “Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris , two Law degrees in Lebanese and Egyptian Law with emphasis on Islamic Law from Beirut Arab University and Alexandria University where he is currently pursuing his PhD, and an LL.M in Public & International Law from Sagesse University. His areas of expertise include use of ICT for development, government strengthening and policy reform, and youth community development.
