Penlope Kobugabe

As a Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission Counselor at Protecting Families against HIV/AIDS, Penlope Kobugabe works with both sexually and domestically violated women in poor communities, focusing on reducing HIV/AIDS infection in children, and, more specifically, counseling expectant mothers and their partners to help them access community counseling centers. Penlope plans to focus on reducing stigma among HIV positive women in order to improve adherence to antiretroviral therapy.
While in the U.S., Penlope worked at AIDS Community Research Initiative of America learning how to design and package HIV prevention messages.
