Padam Pariyar
As an Advocacy Technical Officer at Handicap International-Nepal, Padam Pariyar advocates for and supports disabled people’s organizations to make disaster risk management situations inclusive for all persons. In addition, he researches the effects of conflict on persons with disabilities, and advocates for greater participation of disabled persons in peace building and rehabilitation initiatives. He hopes to utilize his learning and experience gained to create a national dialogue around the effects of conflict on persons with disabilities.
While in the U.S., Padam worked at the D.C. based U.S. International Council on Disabilities developing a white paper on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and training 30 human rights advocates on accessing the Global Disability Rights Library.
