Oksana Denysova, Ukraine, works as a parliament reporter of Ukrayinska Pravda Internet Edition in Kiev, Ukraine. She is also the Information manager of the Ukraine Media Support and Advocacy project (UMSAP) administered by IREX, which aims to support Ukrainian journalists break through institutional barriers that engender private censorship. The project works to expand the use of new media by journalists through training on new media technologies with an emphasis on recognizing and exposing different forms of censorship, and increasing access to credible news and information. In December 2012, UMSAP in cooperation with Telekritika, launched http://pravo.mediasapiens.ua an online resource that maps violations of journalists’ rights and provides a clearing house for censored materials.
