Mirgul Ermatova
CSP Leader - Kyrgyzstan
Mirgul Ermatova is a Project Manager at the Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society, where she trains civil society organizations on monitoring public funding.
During her time in the U.S., Mirgul worked for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in Washington, D.C., where she conducted research on issues related to the credit system in the U.S., voter fraud and voter rights, minority elections and redistricting.
Upon returning to Kyrgyzstan, Mirgul initiated her follow-on project which included a series of peacebuilding trainings for civil society leaders dealing with the conflict between the Uzbek and Kyrgyz communities. Mirgul hopes to increase the level of cooperation and understanding between the two communities in order to strengthen the efficiency of local government in Kyrgyzstan.
