Luis Melgarejo

Luis Melgarejo directs the program Artistic LGBT Group, which brings local artists and intellectuals into the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community for advocacy in Bolivia. 

While in the U.S., Luis worked at Family Equality where he led three main projects inside the Boston community: developing a survey tool that gathered data about the LGBT headed families of color; researching and reaching out to the LGBT faith resources that exist in Massachusetts; and creating resources for mutual collaboration with the Latino/Hispanic LGBT Community.

Upon returning to Bolivia, Luis implemented his follow-on project which consisted of a professional workshop for 40 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered activists on effectively advocating for LGBT rights.
