Lisa Weilminster

Senior Program Officer, Education Programs Division

Lisa Weilminster provides management and technical support to the teacher exchange programs at IREX. Since 2008, Lisa has worked with several U.S. university partners, U.S. Embassies and over 300 international secondary teachers to implement the Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (TEA) as well as the Pakistan-specific TEA program. Lisa has collaborated to develop innovative participant trainings around peer feedback and connecting cultural artifacts to classroom learning.

Her prior experience includes providing English language training in Bosnia to local staff of Women for Women International as well as one-on-one English tutoring for a Somali refugee in Colorado. She has also facilitated emergency education and leadership workshops to students at the primary and middle school levels. Lisa received her BA in Political Science from the University of Northern Colorado and her MA in International Studies from the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver.

Lisa performed in the 100th anniversary year of Tschaikovsky's Nutcracker with the Colorado Ballet. She has been practicing dance for over 25 years.
