Kevin Rubio
Kevin divides his time between program management, program technical support, and supporting division development initiatives. He provides management and oversight to the Iraq Building Bridges through Technology (BBTT) collaborative governance program and oversees the civil society focused program objectives on the Media and Technology for Community Development (MTCD) in Iraq program.
He also manages the Egypt Protecting Human Dignity Against Human Trafficking program. He also provides training and technical support on the peacebuilding activities on the Uniting Communities to Mitigate Conflict in Somalia(UCMC).
Kevin has 15 years experience working in the fields of democracy and governance and youth development in Africa, the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Eurasia, South Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. He has worked conducting institutional assessments, developing training materials and forums and providing direct training and mentoring to multiple levels of stakeholders on the supply-side in strengthening rule of law and improving government institution integrity, performance and programming.
He has also worked on the demand-side with civil society capacity building that includes work with minority and vulnerable populations, strengthening formal and informal civil society and work with particular civil society subsectors including public policy and watchdog NGOs, service delivery NGOs, human trafficking NGOs and in the development of networks and coalitions. He has conducted participatory institutional assessments of NGOs, networks and coalitions and has conducted civil society capacity building trainings focused on consensus facilitation, collaborative governance, cooperative advocacy and coalition and network building.
Kevin holds an MS in Development Management from the London School of Economics and a BA in Philosophy from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
