Farida Sulaimanova
As a Project Coordinator at the Public Association El-Tirek in Kyrgyzstan, Farida Sulaimanova works to establish healthy government-civil society relationships and examines government accountability mechanisms, specifically in budget formation.
While in the U.S., Farida worked for the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz, California, making significant contributions to its five-year strategic planning process and conducting research on the NGO sector in the U.S.
Upon returning to Kyrgyzstan, Fardia implemented her follow-on project which consisted of designing and organizing an essay contest which 31 university students participated in on the subject of corruption and transparency. Farida presented major arguments developed by students to university officials in order to inspire anti-corruption and transparency reforms. Farida is currently in the process of developing a website for the essay contest and plans to expand to other universities in the future.
