Evan Tracz

Director, Novateca - Global Libraries Moldova

Evan manages the Novateca Global Libraries program in Moldova, a two-year learning grant to gain an in-depth understanding of opportunities for providing wide-scale public access to the internet through the existing public library network.

Evan previously served as NATO’s Liaison Officer to Central Asia, facilitating partnerships, projects and political dialogue between NATO and the five Central Asian former-Soviet republics. He also spent nearly four years at the OSCE mission in Turkmenistan as Project Coordinator, where he helped develop and manage over 100 projects addressing security and development.

An IREX returnee, Evan previously managed the Internet Access and Training Program for IREX in Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus (2000-2002), a project that helped extend public internet access to dozens of communities throughout the region for the first time.

Evan received a MA in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, and a BA in English from Boston University.

In his spare time, Evan is a guitarist and singer-songwriter, playing and recording with local musicians wherever his international career takes him.
