Anne Johnson
Anne contributes to IREX's strategic new business development and supports a portfolio of education programs including the Iraq University Linkages Program, Youth Theater for Peace in Kyrgyzstan, and the Student Journalism Program in China. She is also an active member of IREX’s Gender and Conflict Communities of Practice.
Based in Beijing prior to joining IREX, Anne coordinated partnerships and communications for the UNDP Tumen Secretariat, and supported the anti-human trafficking work of the IOM Mission in Tajikistan through a human rights fellowship from the University of Minnesota Law School. Anne holds a BA in International Studies and Anthropology from Macalester College, and speaks Mandarin Chinese and intermediate Serbo-Croatian.
You may not know...
In her first job as a high school student, Anne baked pies in a small northern Wisconsin bakery. Over the course of her first summer at the bakery, Anne made more than 1,000 pies. She has since lost count.
