Albert Gasake
Albert Gasake is a Program Coordinator with the Student Survivors Association, where he helps students who have survived genocide find employment after graduation. As Project Manager of the Prison Project, he provided legal aid, mediation, and advocacy for the unlawfully imprisoned.
While in the U.S., Albert worked at New Foundations where he helped develop its strategic plan to engage community members while also conducting legal research on Colorado’s approach to the treatment of incarcerated individuals.
After returning to Rwanda, Albert implemented his follow-on project whereby he established pro-bono legal assistance, advocacy, and community legal service referrals to genocide survivors. As of June 2012, this project assisted more than 1,000 survivors.
