Natalia Babkina, an active Youth Development Competencies Program (YDCP) participant recently traveled from her remote village in Tyumen Oblast to give a presentation at the youth conference “A Step to the Future” in Moscow.
The conference, which took place from April 11-16, brought together over 700 young researchers from across Russia to share their work. To be invited to the conference, the young people had to win a competition in their home region. From Tyumen, Natalia was one of 13 participants chosen for her research “The Influence of Eco-Tourism on Healthy Lifestyles among Teenagers.”
Natalia developed her research thanks to her participation in YDCP’s Albatross project in Uvat. As part of the Albatross project, she participated in outdoor activities with other teenagers and saw how those activities positively influenced their lifestyles.
At the conference, she won third prize in the sociology category and was invited to participate in the London International Youth Science Forum, which will take place this summer.
