IREX Launches Digital Journalism Project in Tunisia

Tunisian journalistsIREX is pleased to launch a new 10-month project in Tunisia.

IREX will support digital journalism trainings for older, established journalists as a means of improving their capacity for newsgathering and interacting with Tunisian youth. This pilot program is designed to approach improving the quality of journalism in the wake of the rise of social media associated with the "Arab Spring" in innovative ways.

IREX will also leverage the local connections and knowledge of the trainees to both pass along their trainings at their outlets, and produce a series of "how-to" videos in digital journalism that will be available online to other Tunisian journalists. The New Tricks Project: Re-Training for the Middle East's Established Journalists Through Workshops and How-To Videos is funded by the International Press Institute.
