IREX congratulates 2013 U.S. Embassy Policy Specialist (EPS) fellow Matthew Rojansky on his new role as Director of the Kennan Institute; a division of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars that focuses on Russia, Ukraine and other states in the region. Mr. Rojansky will lead the Kennan Institute’s efforts to publicize and integrate new research on the region into the policy community through scholarships, lectures, workshops, and publication programs.
As an IREX EPS fellow, Mr. Rojanksy served as a scholar-in-residence to the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, where he helped to highlight a key problem facing the democratic development of Ukraine through his research on property rights and corporate raiding. Before joining the Kennan Institute, Mr. Rojansky was Deputy Director of the Russia and Eurasia Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where he founded Carnegie's Ukraine Program, among other accomplishments.
