Returned Peace Corps Volunteers at IREX-DC

On this day in 1961, President John F. Kennedy signed the Executive Order establishing Peace Corps. On behalf of IREX, I would like to extend our congratulations to Peace Corps on its 50th Anniversary of promoting peace and friendship around the world. We share common values and goals in our work to make a better world. IREX benefits greatly from the experience and enthusiasm of more than two dozen returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) on our staff. RPCVs at IREX served in Azerbaijan, Cape Verde, Dominican Republic, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Senegal, Tanzania, Tonga, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Zambia over the past 32 years. Several of our programs and participants interact directly with current Peace Corps Volunteers recruiting exchange students and fellows, using library resources and community centers, and conducting trainings. Over the course of the month of March, IREX will feature profiles and blogs from some of the RPCVs on staff. I warmly invite you to check back on our site to read about their experiences.
