Global UGRAD - Pakistan Alumnus Featured in "Minnesota in Pakistan" Series

On a sunny January day in Islamabad, Pakistan, reporter Mark Albert recently sat down to interview Farhan about his experience as an exchange student in Minnesota.  Farhan spent a semester at Minnesota State University, Mankato where he studied mechanical engineering and served as a cultural ambassador through the Global UGRAD-Pakistan Program.  The interview was part of a series called “Minnesota in Pakistan” which seeks to explore the connections between the Mid-Western state and South Asian country.

Farhan, who was motivated to study mechanical engineering out of a desire to help end the energy crisis in Pakistan, impressed Mr. Albert with his passion and optimism. The full story, which aired on KSTP TV, a local ABC affiliate, on February 26th can be seen online here.  This series was part of a U.S. Department of State sponsored journalism exchange program run by the Center for International Journalists.
