Are They Listening? Shaping Successful Youth Messaging
What are successful strategies in reaching youth through communications campaigns?  Practitioners will demonstrate and discuss best practices in message development and dissemination for targeting the youth audience.

IREX and the International Youth Foundation (IYF) are pleased to invite you to the Youth in Development Work Group event. This session will be the third installment of our series of programming on Youth, Media, and Messaging.

Who should attend: practitioners, researchers, students, funders, and others with experience and/or interest in youth development programming and communications.

What to bring: please bring your lunch and be ready to engage with our practitioners and youth in lively dialogue.

Globally, one in five individuals are between the ages of 15 and 24.  Policymakers, development workers and PR firms are developing outreach initiatives and are tailoring their messages to this critical audience.  This session will examine best practices and strategies that organizations are using to develop effective communications campaigns directed towards youth, highlight successful messages, and discuss methods of disseminating youth messaging through appropriate media outlets.   Panelists will include a representative from a global PR firm, a youth participant who successfully implemented a public safety campaign and a representative from an NGO.
