Sixty-four teachers from 20 countries around the world are about to embark on a learning experience of a lifetime.
This week, IREX welcomed a new group of teachers for the Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program, which brings outstanding secondary school teachers from abroad to the US to further develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the United States.
The four-day welcoming program took place in Washington DC where fellows participated in various training sessions such as cross-cultural communications and the US education system. The teachers engaged through a variety of interactions, including cultural presentations and informal events.
Fellows are on their way to host universities across the nation where they will take part in a six week intensive training course in teaching methodologies and an internship at a US secondary school.
We at IREX wish the fellows the best of luck in their journey to come!
TEA is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State and implemented by IREX.
