IREX is proud to announce a new grants component of the Ukraine Media Partnership Program (UMPP). Program Officers recently awarded seven small grants to regional media outlets across Ukraine, targeted at modernizing their web presence. With projects ranging from Informtavryka’s website redesign to incorporate pollution mapping reports updated daily, to Redaktsiya MV’s updated regional news website and brand new students’ website based out of Zaporizhya National University, the grants highlight a wide variety of development opportunities for regional media in Ukraine. |

Hennadiy Serheyev and his crew at TV Chernivitsi have come a long way to become one of the premiere news resources in their city, thanks to a partnership with WFIE in Indiana. It's just one of 28 similar partnerships that grew out of an effort to strengthen Ukraine's media sector. |

A year after completing their participation in the Ukraine Media Partnership Program (UMPP), the local newspaper Sobytie is enjoying incredible success. Taking what they learned from their US partner, The Santa Fe New Mexican, they have overhauled their company—expanding coverage, launching new projects, and developing charity campaigns. Sobytie’s management credits UMPP and their dedicated US partner for their achievements. |

The Ukraine Media Partnership Program (UMPP) recently completed its fifth year of developing long-term professional partnerships between US and Ukrainian media outlets. Since the program’s start in 2002, 16 partnerships have brought 79 Ukrainian media professionals to the US and 45 American professionals to Ukraine to exchange experiences and assist in the development of their partner media outlets. |
