Tech Age Girls (TAG) Factsheet

Description: 

The Tech Age Girls (TAG) project addresses the lack of skilled women in the field of information technology (IT) by encouraging and training the most promising young female leaders. Participants have the opportunity to advance their technical skills, learn from successful female leaders, and develop their own service projects, giving them a chance to excel in the world economy and improve their communities. IREX launched the Tech Age Girls project in Uzbekistan in 2005 and has since administered it in five more Eurasian countries.

As part of the Kosovo Media Assistance Program (KMAP) – a three-year program sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) – IREX and its subcontractor EnCompass LLC conducted a study of women and ethnicity in the media in Kosovo.

As part of the Kosovo Media Assistance Program (KMAP) – a three-year program sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) – IREX and its subcontractor EnCompass LLC conducted a study of women and ethnicity in the media in Kosovo. An important component of KMAP is improving reporting on gender and ethnic/interethnic issues by encouraging increased coverage of these issues, developing awareness among journalists of their importance, and building skills for reporting on them in a productive and positive manner.
