Undergraduate students from Eurasia and Central Asia interested in studying in the US can now apply for the Global UGRAD in Eurasia & Central Asia program (Global UGRAD). IREX is joining thousands of organizations, communities, and individuals for #GivingTuesday. The first national day of giving at the start of the holiday season, #GivingTuesday celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations. 

In appreciation of the assistance provided to one of our own families this year, IREX staff is pleased to announce the selection of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington, DC (RMHC) as the recipients of our annual staff silent auction proceeds with matching funds donated by IREX.

Supreme Court Justice Breyer Opens Media Program in Mozambique

In a ceremony attended by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, U.S. Ambassador to Mozambique Douglas Griffiths, U.S. and Mozambican government officials and representatives of the media, IREX officially launched the Mozambique Media Strengthening Program in Maputo yesterday. The program supports the Mozambican media sector to provide high-quality information to citizens, improve accountability of the Government towards the electorate, and promote a free, open, diverse, and self-sustained media environment. 

IREX Publishes First Interactive Online Annual Report

IREX is pleased to announce the publication of its first interactive, online annual report for 2012. The report includes a video welcome message from IREX President W. Robert Pearson and highlights of IREX’s work helping over half a million people this year.

Fall 2012 Teacher Small Grants Awards Announced

IREX is pleased to announce the recipients of the Fall 2012 TEA/ILEP Alumni Small Grants competition. IREX, in conjunction with an independent selection committee and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, selected 10 alumni of the Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (TEA) and 6 alumni of the International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) to receive funding to support their original small grant project ideas.

It celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations.” This year, following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, on Tuesday November 27, 2012 hundreds of organizations, thousands of communities and individuals will focus on acts of giving.

International Support For The Syria Justice And Accountability Center

IREX is pleased to share the U.S. Department of State Media Note announcing international support for The Syria Justice and Accountability Center at a recent donors conference in Rabat, Morocco. Forty governments and organizations came together to condem the grave human rights violations committed against the Syrian people and called for an end to the violence. They pledged more than $3 million to support the Center.
