SUMMARY OF POSITION
IREX seeks a highly motivated and skilled individual with both recruitment and proposal experience in international development to join its Development Division and work closely with the three sector divisions. The candidate will recruit individuals for positions identified on proposals and current IREX projects covering the sector specialties as well as manage the IREX recruitment resources.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Develop the IREX capability to recruit winning chiefs of party and other key personnel.
- Manage and develop the IREX recruitment database.
- Work with proposal and division managers to develop position descriptions.
- Source appropriate candidates through internal and external networks, industry events, IREX’s recruitment database and online electronic resources.
- Work in close partnership with division managers to achieve recruitment objectives for assigned positions by verifying appropriate position requirement and budget.
- Conduct effective screening, interviewing, and assessments for the best candidates for a position match including verification of credentials.
- Follow standardized processes to screen candidates, ensuring compliance with all governmental and client employment specifications as well as verification of experience and education credentials.
- Negotiate candidate salaries and benefits within proposal budget constraints.
- Develop, build and maintain candidate relationships through ongoing communications regarding questions, updates and status during the interview process.
- Keep current on US Government regulations on compensation and allowances and is the resource person to IREX staff on these allowances.
- Maintain knowledge of and sensitivity to the constantly changing environment of the marketplace relative to the sourcing and recruitment of qualified professionals.
- Participate in other aspects of business development as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- At least five years relevant work experience, international development experience preferred.
- Ability to take responsibility for assignments and report on progress with minimal oversight.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal clients and external candidates, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English, plus fluency in another language highly desirable.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity, knowledge of and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and possess the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and handle many tasks simultaneously, often with inflexible deadlines.
- Experience in recruitment of chiefs of party highly desirable.
The International Recruiter will report to the Director of Development.
