About Us
IREX is an independent, international, nonprofit organization founded in 1968 that works with local partners to develop innovative programs to solve development challenges. As part of our commitment to ensuring our programs benefit local communities, 92 cents of every dollar goes towards our program activities.
What We Do
IREX helps people around the globe build key elements of a vibrant society. We help youth find their voices, give women leadership opportunities, advance research and education, and promote open information through media and technology. IREX employs field-tested methods and innovative uses of technology.
Where We Are
IREX works in more than 125 countries and has 20 field offices. This year IREX opened new offices in Mozambique and Namibia.
Who We Are
IREX has a global staff of over 400 development professionals. Over 90% of our field staff are locally hired experts. The NonProfit Times named IREX one of the 2012 Top 50 Nonprofits to Work For.
